Dr. Erika Smith-Marek, PhD has over fifteen years of experience specializing in the treatment of trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as well as marital, couple, and family therapy. She has provided individual, couple, and family therapy to over 1,000 adult survivors of trauma during her career.
Erika is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a Certified Trauma Treatment Specialist through the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists. She is also an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Certified Therapist in EMDR and a Full Member of the EMDR International Association. She is the Regional Coordinator for the Northwest Florida EMDRIA Regional Network, which brings EMDR practitioners together for training opportunities related to the practice of EMDR Therapy.
Her clinical and research interests have converged around the treatment of trauma and the use of novel exercise interventions for the treatment of trauma and traumatic stress.
